Rob Zombie’s vision of “Halloween” is an entirely new take on the legend and will satisfy fans of the classic “Halloween” legacy while beginning a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. This new movie will not only appeal to horror fans, but to a wider movie-going audience as well. It will not be a copycat of any prior films in the “Halloween” franchise. Oh! And by the way, if you’re counting, this is the NINTH “Halloween” movie to hit theaters.

“Skinwalkers,” (as you can see from perusing the posters on this page), has had a life of its own. Originally, “Skinwalkers” was to be released on March 30, 2007. When WAM contacted regional Lionsgate Filmed Enterainment publicsts, during the middle of March 2007, none had even heard of “Skinwalkers.”

Wild About Movies, given the go ahead by Lionsgate internal publicity, early in the month of July 2007, was told that “Skinwalkers” was going to be released on July 27, 2007.

But, it was not – and was pushed back, yet again to, presumably the official release date – since the latest poster of “Skinwalkers” (above), indicates such.

In addition, the movie had originally been given an R-rating by the MPAA. Did the reason for the film’s delay in release have to do with extreme editing to allow the film a more tepid PG-13 rating, which it will be released with in theaters? (We’re sure the DVD of “Skinwalkers” will be released in an UNRATED version.)

“Skinwalkers” is a horror action film about a 12-year-old boy who suddenly finds himself at the center of a battle between two warring groups of werewolves. One group of werewolves is sworn to protect him, the other group is trying to kill him — and the young boy’s mother has to find out why her son is at the center of the conflict before time runs out – “Skinwalkers.”

“I Know Who Killed Me” – Lindsay Lohan, who if she doesn’t watch out, in real life, with her unacceptable partying, will know who kills her (herself), plays Aubrey, the young daughter of affluent parents who is abducted and mutilated by a sadistic serial killer. She manages to escape, sans a hand and a leg and lots of blood. The girl who regains consciousness in the hospital claims to be not Aubrey but Dakota – identical to Aubrey, but with a much different demeanor. Dakota struggles to convince anyone that she is not Aubrey and finds herself in a desperate race to save Aubrey’s life and her own against overwhelming odds.

I Know Who Killed Me

“Mandy Lane” – “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane.” Beautiful. Untouched. High school royalty waiting to be crowned. Since the dawn of Junior year, men have tried to possess her. Some have even died in reckless pursuit of this 16 year-old Texas angel. Chloe and Red invite Mandy out to Red’s family ranch for the weekend. Mandy sees it as an excellent opportunity to cement her new friendships. The boys see it as an opportunity to finally get with Mandy Lane. Driving across the Texas landscape, the kids begin to gently chip away at the wall that surrounds her. Joints are smoked. A keg is stolen off a beer truck. Pills are crushed to fine powder and inhaled. Mandy observes it all with the gentle interest of a foreign tourist. And they love her for it. At the ranch, all the boys start to make their move – each one hoping to be the first to attain the unattainable Mandy Lane. However, as night falls and the booze, drugs, and hormones take over, things are said and advances made which can never be reversed. Suddenly, sweet Mandy finds herself pit in a brutal struggle for survival against someone whose interest she has rejected. Forget reading, writing and arithmetic. In high school, learning to be yourself and not succumbing to peer pressure is the ultimate test. And this is one exam that Mandy is determined not to fail.

Black Sheep” – No, Chris Farley has not been raised from the dead. And, no, Paramount is not rerelasing their “Black Sheep,” this summer. But, alas, your eyes are not deceiving you either. IFC/First Take are willing to bet their house on the fact that there will be quite a few kids out for summer vacation, black sheep of their own families, who will be able to relate to their film or, at the very least, spend $10 on it. In this “Black Sheep” movie, we find out that there are 40 million sheep in New Zealand and only 4 million inhabitants. After a genetic experiment goes wrong, New Zealand’s sheep start turning nasty, and it’s the humans who begin bleating. Uh-huh – bah, blah, “Black Sheep.”

Fido” – Years ago, the earth passed through a cloud of space dust, causing the dead to rise with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. Terror spread across the land, until a collar was invented that made the zombies docile, even useful. A company was born: ZomCon. Thanks to their patented domestication collar, zombies became gardeners, milkmen, servants, even pets. ZomCon would like everyone to believe that they have the world under control. But do they? Timmy Robinson (K’Sun Ray) doesn’t think so. He thinks the world is “phony-baloney”. An awkward loner, Timmy spends so much time in his room even his own parents don’t notice him. So when Mom (Carrie-Anne Moss) buys a zombie (Billy Connolly) to help around the house, Timmy is surprised, and even curious, when the beast wants to play catch. When the zombie saves him from the local bullies, a true friendship is born, and Timmy names the zombie “Fido.” But Fido’s collar goes on the fritz, and the neighbors start paying the ultimate price. To complicate matters, ZomCon’s notorious zombie-control specialist, Mr. Bottoms (Henry Czerny), has moved in across the street. What begins as a small town story about a boy and his best friend becomes a biting satire about our world, the price of fear, and the rewards of risking love. “Fido” will rip your heart out.
